Middletown celebrated Arbor Day on Friday at Veterans Memorial Green, dedicating two recently planted autumn red maples to U.S. Army veteran Phil Cacciola and U.S. Air Force veteran Larry Riley, commander of American Legion Post 75.  Energize Connecticut donated a $3,075 check, a portion of the proceeds from home energy audits, to the Middletown Urban Forestry Commission to be used to purchase 15 trees for the city. For the 27th year in a row, The National Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA Award was presented to the city.
